Niagara Falls

4/28/19

With 440 miles ahead of us, my mom and I left Proctor early on Sunday morning. The car ride was filled with loads of snacks and audio books that resulted in me falling asleep listening to the audio book. Once we got to the US - Canada Border, we finally reached our destination, Ontario, Canada. We were staying a night right next to Niagara Falls. We eagerly put our bags down in our room and perfectly played the role of a tourist. This included: countless selfies at the Falls, staring in awe at the rainbows created by the mist, and laughing because we forgot what the Canadian flag looked like. As I am typing this in our hotel room, right outside my window are the falls lit up with lights!
Fun Facts:
1) In 1911, Bobby Leach plunged over the falls in a steel barrel, lived through that but then slipped on a orange peel and died
2) In 1995, someone rode a jet ski off the falls intending to jump and parachute down, but the parachute broke and he died
3) In 2012, Nic Wallenda walked on a tightrope across the falls (he lived)
